Course intro

Today was the first day and the introduction of the course. Afterwards, we made groups and were asked to write our morning routines (user journey) on post-it notes in a chronological order. Then we were asked to imagine that we had a limited time in the morning, so only keep the activities that we think are necessary. I was wondering about the purpose of this exercise and I guess we could use it in the project of the week. Maybe it has something to do with minimizing the tasks or the information that is talked about in the papers about glanceable feedback or glanceability, which we were told to read.

summarizing course literatures, peer critique and seminar

Summarizing the texts with the help of the questions prepared, helped me in understanding the content of the papers so much compared to how I usually read academic texts. My summary was apparently longer than it was supposed to be, but I could argue that I did the task with the help of the questions, among which there were a few ones that were about the process and results of the experiments. So I do not see any problem with that. Writing peer critique to others’ texts was also interesting and helpful to review the points in the paper, as well as gaining some new insights that I did not think about myself. The seminar was very helpful since some important points about how to evaluate and then read a paper were highlighted and discussed. It is still pretty hard for me to talk in “public” or with an audience but I tried to do it anyways.
